Autumn Term - "Kingdoms"

- Independently make informed decisions on how to use wide range of tools, materials and techniques creatively.
- Initiate their own ideas for an original piece.
- Approaches creative projects in a systematic way.
- Makes informed decisions about colours, shade, tone and texture.
- Refines decisions about materials, techniques and tools; exploiting opportunities as they go (e.g. mistakes, new materials, additional tools).
- Can reflect on and critique their own work, and that of others, and give constructive feedback using a wider range of artistic or technical vocabulary.

- Uses technology safely, respectfully and responsibly.
- Recognises acceptable/unacceptable behaviour including breaking the law (e.g. trolling, copyright rules).
- Knows how to report concerns about content and contact both in and beyond the school (e.g. Facebook, Snapchat, Whatsapp etc).
- Know how to protect their online identity and digital footprint (e.g. passwords)

- Can describe in detail and understand the human characteristics of some of the largest cities in the UK (population, economic activity and transport systems).
- Can describe the environmental regions, key human and physical characteristics, countries and major cities of Europe, North and South America.
- Can explain how time zones (including day and night) in different countries around the world affect the human and physical geography of a place.
- Can compare and contrast areas of the UK and the wider world by analysing their geographical features on a range of maps including digital/ computer mapping.
- Understands how human and physical geography can lead to similarities and differences in a range of environments studied.

- Can describe how the influence of the Ancient Greeks  is reflected in their own lives (e.g. art,architecture, literature, democracy, leisure).
- Can describe Greek life and achievements and their influence on the western world, e.g. The Olympics.
- Explore different points of views in history and explain and understand why these help us understand and interpret history.
- Investigate and respond to a complex research question independently, using different evidence to support  responses.


Links intelligently with other players within a team game through passing and movement.

- Can describe how living things are classified into broad groups according to common observable characteristics and based on similarities and differences, including micro-organisms, plants and animals.
- Gives reasons for classifying plants and animals based on specific characteristics.
- Recognises that living things have changed over time and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.
- Recognises that living things produce offspring of the same kind, but normally offspring vary and are not identical to their parents.
- Can identify how animals and plants are adapted to suit their environment in different ways and that adaptation may lead to evolution.
